Had an amazing weekend in San Francisco, and now it's back to the grindstone; trying to make up the hours that I missed, falling asleep at my keyboard, etc., but well worth it! As is tradition, Hardly Strictly Bluegrass Festival in Golden Gate Park was this past weekend (and the 10th Anniversary to boot!); it wasn't a problem last year since I was at home, but now that I'm living back in San Diego and Laurelita is in law school in Portland, it takes a bit more planning. We booked our flights to arrive within 20 minutes of each other, and it was such a great reunion. We're such saps; both of us had a tear in our eyes when we saw each other - it's been way too long! B picked us up at the airport and that started our weekend long adventure of banjos, slide guitars and cooooold weather.
Joan Baez, Gillian Welch, Indigo Girls, Evlis Costello, Emmylou Harris and the Avett Brothers made this year incredible! ... also, it's always super entertaining just to go and people watch. Come on, a FREE 3 day festival in Golden Gate Park featuring amazing bluegrass music? Hundreds of thousands of people show up throughout the weekend and there's always characters.
Can't wait til HSB 2011!
