It's our last day in Maui, and I don't want to go back home! The sun wasn't out for the first 3-4 days, so we're finally starting to get some good weather and now it's time to head home (isn't that always how it is on vacation?!) We went to a luau, snorkeled Molokini (note to self: NEVER do that again. You and your breakfast will regret it!), snorkeled Black ROck (way better. no boat required!), and ziplined near Haleakalā Crater yesterday. That was a pretty awesome experience. We did it with an eco-tour company, so a portion of what we paid for the zipline tour goes back to the forest we ziplined through, and also to help certain near-extinct local birds.
We leave tonight, so we're trying to get as much beach/pool time as we possibly can before we have to check out of the hotel and head to the airport. Then an overnight flight with 5 hours of sleep (maximum. And that's if I even can fall asleep!) We land at LAX at 450am PST (so it will feel like 150am HST (oy), and then a 2 hour drive from LAX back to San DIego. I'm crossing my fingers for now traffic, but you know that's not going to happen!
